Websites for Curtain Shops: Product Pages, Measuring Requests and an Example Site

For anyone opening a curtain shop or thinking about a website for one: what the site needs, measuring and fitting requests, appearing on Google, and the Başol Perde site we built.

THE SHORT ANSWER

People buying curtains want to see the fabric and how it looks once fitted. Your site needs a page for each type of curtain, photos of your own fittings, and a button that lets customers send a photo of the window on WhatsApp and ask for a measuring visit.

In this article
  1. 01A note before you open
  2. 02What the site needs
  3. 03An example we built: Başol Perde
  4. 04Finding customers

This page is for anyone opening a curtain shop and thinking about a website for it. Curtain shops meet customers in the shop and also go to their homes to measure and fit. The website should make both easier.

01A note before you open

A shop in Türkiye needs a workplace opening and operating licence from the municipality. Under the licence regulation, opening a shop in a unit registered as a residence needs the unanimous agreement of all the owners in the building. Check how the unit is registered before you rent it.

02What the site needs

  • A page for each type of curtain. Sheers, drapes, roller blinds, zebra blinds, venetians, pleated blinds, whichever you sell. Real photos of fittings of that type on each page.
  • Measuring and fitting requests. One button that lets the customer send a photo of the window on WhatsApp and ask for a measuring appointment.
  • Work you have done. Photos and short videos of your own fittings. Which area and which room.
  • How you work. Measuring, choosing fabric, sewing, fitting. What happens at each step.
  • Shop details. Address, map, opening hours, and that customers can look at fabric samples in the shop.
  • Call and WhatsApp on every page. So customers can reach you with one tap, whichever page they are on.

If prices are hard to show, explain what the price depends on for each type: fabric, size, mechanism. Then ask customers to send a photo for a price.

03An example we built: Başol Perde

Başol Perde is a neighbourhood curtain maker in Mecidiyeköy, İstanbul, that measures, sews and fits. The aim of the site was to show the range and make calling easy:

  • A page for every type of curtain the shop sells.
  • A gallery of the shop's real work and fitting videos.
  • Call, WhatsApp and directions on every page.
  • An editing panel the owner uses from his phone.

The site scored 95 out of 100 on a phone in Google's Lighthouse test.

04Finding customers

  1. Open a Google Business Profile. You need it to appear on the map for searches like "curtain shop near me". The steps are in our Google Business Profile guide.
  2. Ask for a review after every fitting. Reviews with photos let the next customer see your work. How to do it is in How to Get More Google Reviews.
  3. Share the work you do on the site. Each job with its area, for searches such as "roller blinds Şişli". We describe the same approach on our page for renovation companies.

Questions

Should a curtain site show prices?

You do not have to. You can explain that the price depends on fabric, size and mechanism and ask customers to send a photo for a price.

Can I add new fitting photos myself?

Yes. As with Başol Perde, the sites we build have a panel where you can add photos and products from your phone.

Can a curtain shop open in an apartment unit?

Opening a shop in a unit registered as a residence needs the unanimous agreement of all the owners in the building.
