A customer, supplier or foreign buyer who hears of a company for the first time usually looks at its website first. The job of a company site is simple: show that the company is real, knows its work and can be reached.
01Pages a company site needs
- Home. A headline that says in one sentence what you do, and paths to your main products or services.
- About. When and where you were founded, your team, your facility. With real photos.
- Products or services. A separate page for each. Dimensions, specifications and documents for buyers who want technical detail.
- References or projects. Only real ones, with clients who have agreed.
- Documents and certificates. The quality certificates you hold, downloadable.
- Contact. Full address, map, phone, e-mail and a short form. A separate path for quotes or samples.
- Privacy notice. If the site collects personal data, as explained below.
Put a company e-mail address on the site, for example info@yourcompany.com. A Gmail address does not inspire trust on a company site.
02If you export: languages
If you sell to foreign buyers, the site needs to be in their language. What matters is that each language has a full set of pages: product pages, technical details and the contact form translated too. Use text translated by a person rather than an automatic translation button. Each language version appears separately in searches in its own language.
03Legal pages and company details in Türkiye
- KVKK privacy notice. Wherever you collect personal data, such as a contact or quote form, Article 10 of Law No. 6698 requires you to inform people: who processes the data, for what purpose, who it is shared with and what their rights are.
- Cookies. If your site uses cookies, follow the Personal Data Protection Authority's guide on cookies. The simplest way is not to use any cookies the site does not need to work.
- Companies subject to independent audit. Under the Turkish Commercial Code these companies must have a website and keep their MERSİS number, trade name, head office, capital and managers published on it.
- If you sell through your site. Businesses that sell online through their own site must register with the Electronic Commerce Information System (ETBİS).
Check the legal texts with a lawyer. Which rules apply to your company depends on what you do and how big you are.
04Speed and Google
- Fast to open. Visitors do not want to wait for a page, especially on a phone.
- A page per product. To appear for the product name a buyer searches, you need a page about that product.
- Clear titles. Every page title should say what the page is about.
