This page is for anyone opening a wedding venue in Türkiye and thinking about a website for it. The rules come from the regulation on workplace opening and operating licences.
01Licence and general conditions
- Workplace opening and operating licence. From the municipality, with the application and declaration form.
- Occupancy permit. The regulation counts wedding venues among workplaces that need a special type of building. So the building must already have its occupancy permit (yapı kullanma izin belgesi).
- Flat ownership. To open an entertainment or meeting venue in a unit registered as a residence, all the owners in the building must agree unanimously.
- Fire. Workplaces with more than thirty employees need a fire brigade report. Others must also have the necessary fire precautions in place.
02Conditions in the venue
Under the regulation's section on wedding venues:
- Doors. Separate entrance and exit doors, at least two of each. Fire exit doors open outwards and have two leaves.
- Toilets. Away from the hall, separate for women and men, with mirrors and washbasins.
- Hall. A place for the band and a dance floor. A cloakroom with a counter and a full-length mirror at the entrance.
- Rooms. Separate changing rooms for staff, performers and the bride and groom, and a service room.
- Heating and ventilation. Heating by central heating or air conditioning, ventilation by air conditioning.
- Kitchen. Away from the hall, with fly screens on doors and windows that open outside.
Rules on noise and opening hours can differ by province and municipality. Ask your municipality before you apply.
03What a wedding venue website needs
- Capacity. How many guests seated, how many for a cocktail layout.
- Real photos and video of the venue. The empty hall, laid tables, evening lighting.
- Packages. With dinner, cocktail, civil ceremony. Clearly what is included. If you would rather not show prices, a "write to us for prices" button.
- Asking about a date. A button that lets the couple ask about the date they want by a WhatsApp message that is already written.
- Location and parking. Map, parking capacity and public transport.
- Engagements, henna nights and other events. What kinds of events you host besides weddings.
04Finding couples
- Open a Google Business Profile. You need it to appear on the map for searches like "wedding venue Kadıköy". The steps are in our Google Business Profile guide.
- Ask for a review after every wedding. Reviews with photos let the next couple see the venue. How to do it is in How to Get More Google Reviews.
- Share real weddings on Instagram, with the couples' permission, and put your site's address in your profile.
- Give each type of event its own page. For searches such as "henna night venue" or "civil ceremony venue".
